The use of inclusive language is important because it seeks to promote equality and diversity by using language that does not exclude or discriminate against any person based on gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity, disability, culture, or other characteristics. By including all people, it fosters a more equitable, respectful, and empathetic society.
With that aim, two resources have been designed to help guide you in the workplace and in your daily life.
- Find a poster that will give you ideas on how to introduce inclusive language on your papers, speeches, e-mails, etc. You can paste it at your work station or in your office door so it act as a reminder for you and your colleagues.
